Colossal Concrete

Colossal is a 16.7% shareholder of Colossal Concrete Products (CCP), a proudly majority black women-owned and controlled precast concrete manufacturing company based in Gauteng and Northern Cape provinces. CCP is a dynamic and agile partnership between 4 companies that acquired Aveng Infraset’s Brakpan and De Aar facilities for their rail, telecommunications, civil engineering and specialised precast concrete manufacturing capabilities and intellectual property (IP).

Following a professional, smooth and synergistic transaction with Aveng, the two precast concrete facilities rebranded under the new company Colossal Concrete Products. Infraset, originally a company within the renowned multibillion-rand Grinaker Group and later a core asset of JSE-listed international infrastructure and resources company Aveng, has been manufacturing a diverse range of high-quality, innovative precast concrete products in compliance with South African National Standards using the ISO 9001 quality management system for over 62 years.

The strategic acquisition of the Brakpan and De Aar plants was a really defining moment for us. This is because it represents a golden opportunity not only to service our long-term vision of diversifying into different vertical industries; but also as an excellent springboard for our planned Pan-African expansion,” Mahuma says.

CCP offers a range of concrete products with the facilities, intellectual property (IP) and licences to continue with the supply of a wide range of precast rails, poles, masts, pipes, culverts, enclosures and related specialised product ranges.

Colossal Africa and Aviapartner have joined forces to create Colossal Aviapartner — a pioneering venture set to transform ground-handling services across the African continent.

This strategic partnership combines Colossal Africa’s deep operational footprint in Southern Africa — a proudly black-owned organisation, led by our CEO and Founder Mr Thabo Ivan Motale — with Aviapartner’s decades of global aviation expertise across Europe. Together, they are redefining what aviation service excellence looks like in Africa.

Serving an extensive roster of global airlines, including South African Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, and British Airways, Colossal Aviapartner is already demonstrating its commitment to efficiency and reliability through significant investment in advanced ground service equipment (GSE). This ensures faster turnaround times, streamlined operations, and world-class service delivery across the aviation value chain.

More than a joint venture, this partnership represents a bold step toward reshaping the African aviation landscape. It reflects a shared ambition to pioneer innovative solutions, expand into new markets, drive operational efficiencies, and establish new benchmarks for aviation excellence.

Today, the Colossal Aviapartner brand is visible at airports across the country, signalling the arrival of a new era in African ground handling. As the aviation sector continues to evolve, this collaboration stands as a powerful commitment to delivering the future of ground-handling services — and setting a new global standard for the industry.
